The Wastewater Treatment Plant of Lamia is located in a lowland rural area to the southeast of the city of Lamia, on an area of approximately 54 acres.

The treatment method is based on the activated sludge system with prolonged aeration, complete stabilization of the sludge, a high degree of nitrification – denitrification and biological nitrogen removal.

Disinfection of the outgoing liquids is done using a chlorination-dechlorination system, while the treatment of the sludge is carried out by mechanical means.
